divine playhouse、シドニーのformer churchを monthsのloveとcareで生み出した LGBTQ+ friendly arts spaceは、3日間で壊されました。

Christian groupsのprotestにより閉鎖

opening night partyには、drag queen、dj set、performance from Sisters of Perpetual Indulgenceなど、hundreds of peopleが集まりました。

しかし、christian groupsがprotestを始めた後、promotersはcease and desistの命令を受け、3日以内にspaceを清掃するようになりました。

lawyersは、landlordの命令に基づく閉鎖がlawfulかどうかを検討しています。

divine playhouseは、heaps gay eventsに所有されていたが、landlordがeviction令を出したため、spaceを失いました。

heaps gayのfounder、kat dopperは「it's not just about divine any more, it's about censorship」と述べ、spaceを失うことでcensorshipが強化されることを懸念しています。
