2029年,英国将成为无烟世代的第一国
英国政府recently passed a bill that bans the sale of tobacco products to anyone born after 2008. This move aims to create a smoke-free generation and reduce the burden on the National Health Service (NHS).

According to the tobacco and vapes bill, individuals born on or after January 1, 2009, will never be legally able to purchase tobacco across the UK. Ministers hope this will eventually lead to the end of the sale of tobacco products altogether, breaking the cycle of addiction and the disadvantages associated with tobacco.
Smoking leads to 400,000 hospital admissions and 64,000 deaths a year in England alone, costing the NHS £3 billion in treatments for tobacco-related illnesses like cancer and heart disease. The total cost to society in England is estimated to be between £21.3 billion and £27.6 billion annually, mainly through lost productivity.
